May Bank Holiday Treats
The celebration of May Day dates back to ancient times when Romans celebrated the festival of Flora, the goddess of flowers and spring. Many of the old customs celebrating new life and fertility survive to this day, including Morris dancing and dancing around the maypole. Despite often being the butt of jokes, Morris dancers are in high demand on May Day, performing at pubs and on village greens up and down the country.
We’ve compiled a list of our top recommendations of things to do over the bank holiday weekend as well as sharing some tasty recipes for you to make and enjoy. If you have any bank holiday suggestions head over to our Facebook post and add them to the comments.
